Escape Room Project

This was the second project of the first year of the course and the first group project.

The groups were decided by our tutors, maybe with the intention of mixing up the skill sets of each group and also to introduce us to new people as this was fairly early on in the course. My group was made up of two level designers and a 3D modeler, our downfall was that none of us particularly specialized in coding so that aspect was a challenge for our group.

Our task was to create an Escape Room game, so we had to brainstorm puzzles and a setting that was interesting, yet not generic and predictable. Me and my group  came up with a hotel setting, and the puzzles to be interactive with environment and to be all birds eye view puzzles, with the game transitioning between a first person view.

My main role was the Level designer for the group, but I also chipped in with some 3D modelling.

In the screenshots below, some of the scene and post processing are messy, and that's mainly due to me not entirely knowing how it worked, I just added it in and kept it there because it made the scene look a lot nicer. Since then i have learned more about Post Processing, such as how each effect change certain aspects and the ups and downs of each, and also learning the importance of snapping to the grid in the Unity to ensure objects fit together properly.
